Taylor Swift și Selena Gomez au fost ambele câștigătoare la categoriile legate de muzică la gala MTV Movie & TV Awards 2023, unde serialul HBO The Last of Us, cu Pedro Pascal în rolul principal, a luat cele mai multe premii ale serii.

Piesa "Carolina" a lui Swift, de pe coloana sonoră a filmului Where the Crawdads Sing, a fost premiată pentru cel mai bun cântec. La această categorie, "Carolina" a avut de înfruntat melodii de pe coloana sonoră a filmelor de la Demi Lovato, Doja Cat, Lady Gaga, OneRepublic și Rihanna.

My Mind & Me al lui Gomez a fost premiat ca cel mai bun documentar muzical, unde a concurat cu filmele Halftime; Love, Lizzo; Sheryl și The Day the Music Died: The Story of Don McLean's American Pie.

Premiile MTV Movie & TV Awards 2023 au onorat vedetele din cinematografie și televiziune, atât din domeniul scenariilor, cât și din cel al emisiunilor fără scenariu, printr-o ceremonie preînregistrată care a fost difuzată duminică (7 mai).
